Nurturing Nature Around Us
All the things that matter most to us rely on the bounty of the Earth, so we’re doing our part to take care of her.
Wetland Conservation
Our RTP taproom is located adjacent to wetlands that are important to the ecology of Durham, and the bulk of our Nature-minded philanthropic work goes into preserving them.
Those wetlands need protection, and we love investing in and bringing our community together to do things to help! We regularly organize wetland cleanup volunteer days and pollinator garden planting and maintenance days.
Pollinator Garden
Check out our pollinator garden next time you’re in the Beer Garden at our RTP location! Over the next few years, we will be growing this conservancy program, so keep an eye on it, and please email katy@glass-jug.com if you’re interested in participating in any way!
Eco-Minded Brewing
Our brewing team is continually refining our processes to make brewing our beer as eco-friendly as is reasonably possible. Water is the most wasted resource in the process of brewing beer, so we capture and reuse water whenever possible. We are also actively working on reducing our use and waste of carbon dioxide, a necessary gas in beer production that is also a greenhouse gas when released into the air.
Nature-Focused Philanthropy
In addition to our community and science-based philanthropy, we also seek out and partner with organizations committed to the wellbeing of our planet.
